Nestled in the heart of Amish Country, Verdant View Farm is a warm and welcoming setting for visitors to explore a family homestead, interact with farm animals, enjoy local hospitality, and taste homegrown foods. Ideally situated in the heart of Lancaster County, your group will be just minutes away from many key attractions, restaurants, outdoor activities, markets, theaters, and more!
What's Included?
Farm-to-table breakfast, featuring homegrown and locally sourced foods. Served family-style at 8:30am Monday-Saturday at the farmhouse. A complimentary breakfast voucher is provided on Sunday mornings at a nearby restaurant.
Morning chores. Milk a cow, collect eggs, interact with farm animals, and learn about our homestead farm operation during a guided farm experience. Bring your boots and your curiosity! Offered at 7:30am Monday-Saturday and at 8:30am on Sunday.
Overnight stay. The farm setting is unparalleled. Kids love the animals, open space, and unstructured play. Families unplug and make memories together. Grandparents connect with their loved ones and witness many firsts. Schools and scouts love the learning opportunities. Couples enjoy relaxing on the porch or leisurely strolling down the farm lane at sunset. The accommodations are clean and comfortable so that you can focus on making memories that last a lifetime.
The Cottage
The Cottage is the most popular option for friends, groups, and extended families. The Cottage features 3 units, each with their own ensuite bathroom, and can accommodate up to 15 people total. The house includes a fully-equipped kitchen, living room, large backyard, playground, and outdoor propane grill.
The Cottage is located just a 3-minute walk (or 1 min drive) from the Farmhouse and barns, and you’ll enjoy scenic views of the pond, pastures, and farms. Relax on the front porch and watch Amish buggies heading down the road or watch the Amish neighbor working with a team of draft horses in their fields.

The Farmhouse
Enjoy the warmth and charm of an 1896 farmhouse. For more than 55 years, the host family has opened the rooms on the 2nd floor of their home to guests from around the world. The Farmhouse features 4 units, each with its own ensuite bathroom, and can accommodate up to 14 guests total. The house includes a small, indoor 1st floor sitting room, easy access to a large semi-enclosed veranda, and an outdoor refrigerator/freezer. The Farmhouse does not include access to a kitchen, grill or microwave. For many visitors, they don’t plan to prep food and they love the various restaurants that are located just minutes away from the farm. For others, the Farmhouse is preferred because it’s set back from the road, the accommodations are closer to the animals, and they adore the clear views of cows grazing in the pastures and seeing the historic steam train passing through the back fields.
***Please note*** – The Farmhouse does not include access to a kitchen, grill or microwave. For those who need access to a kitchen, please look into renting rooms in the Cottage.
